2. Hamsters love to burrow and build nests, so it's important to provide them with plenty of bedding material like hay or shredded paper. 3. A happy hamster will live between one and two years, but there is no way to predict how long your pet will live. 4. You should feed your pet hamster only enough food so that he doesn't gorge himself, as this can lead to obesity which can shorten his life span. 5. As with all pets, cleanliness is very important for the health of your pet; try cleaning out his cage weekly (or more often if needed) by removing old bedding material and replacing it with fresh stuff from time to time as well as changing his water bottle daily or every other day depending on how much he drinks out of it.
